Sweeten the Catch

Ingredients:
                  3 tbsp. salt
                  2 tsp. baking soda
                  1 gallon cold water
                 
                 
                 
                 
                 


Instructions:
                   Combine all of the ingredients. Mix well. Submerge fish in solution, weigh down with heavy plate and refrigerate overnight or at least for 6 hours. Discard water with all oils floating on top. Rinse fish well with cold water. Dry fish with paper towels and prepare for table with your favorite recipe or freeze.


Comments:
                   This recipe takes away any strong fishy flavor that is carried by the oils in the fish. Try it. Bon appetite. This recipe was originally submitted on the old FishErie site by Matt Szustak.
