Committees
Banquet
o There was a meeting on the Sunday of the super bowl. Prizes are coming in and everything is falling into place.
o Erik noted that this will be the last year of Fergies catering the banquet. For future banquets at the Shrine Club, the Shrine Club must be the caterer.
o Erik asked for prizes to be called in or dropped off ASAP so that program can begin to be developed and appropriate credit given.
Stream Improvement
o Jim Pfendler reported that he received a letter from Dave Keller reporting that the application has been approved. Need a date to set up a walk of the property in April or May.
o Marsh Young could not attend the meeting. Will discuss potential work on South Branch at a later date.
Old Business
o There were several members who attended the meeting with the Steelheaders association.
o Eric Lyle has volunteered to be the chair for the steam easement committee. Those interested in joining the committee had the opportunity to sign onto the committee.
o Eric reviewed what Tom Ford had to say at the SH meeting. Stated that nothing new was stated at the meeting. A copy of the New York land easement program was provided to Tom Ford by Erik Cronk. Impressions from those who attended think that those in Harrisburg at not hearing or listening to the ideas from this area.
o Eric suggested that members write to the PFBC and CC to your congressperson to get opinions heard.
o Dan Hill reviewed what took place at the Citizens Advisory Committee. His impression is that the PFBC sees this as a grant program. Does not appear to be a plan for the stamp monies other then purchasing land.
New Business
o Chris Niebauer and Karl Weixlmann will attend the Cold Water Conservation Convention. The convention will cover land easement and access as part of the programs being presented.
o Received a letter from Linda Steiner for each chapter to commit $100 to Scott Wilson to assist with transportation and travel costs. Motion by Bob Fuller, 2nd by Doc Bloom to send $100 to assist with covering the costs. The Chapter would like to see Scott attend either a general membership meeting or the banquet sometime.
o Received a letter about a raffle for the #1 print of “Sting of the hook.”
o The chapter was invited to see the progress of the “Trout in the classroom.” Bill Angelo will look at potential dates.
o Have received one application for the Rivers Conservation Camp. Jack Bock moved to accept the application for Stephen Bucklin, 2nd by Al Barger. Bill Angelo motioned that the board determine the approval of future applications, 2nd by Al Barger. Both motions passed unanimously.
o Jim received the letter about signing onto the letter to urge legislators to control mercury from coal process. Motion by Bob Harris, 2nd by Bob Fuller to sign onto the letter. Motioned that passed unanimously.
o There was a motion to purchase the projector by Kevin Fritts to purchase the projector for presentations, 2nd by Doc Bloom. Motioned passed unanimously.
Motion to adjourn by Bob Fuller, second by Jack Bloom. Motion passed unanimously.
Respectfully submitted,
Kevin Fritts
