Didn't find the perch til 10:30 caught them all in 2 hours. I've been fishing perch in Erie for more than 10 years now and never caught a legal walleye and this year got 3. Fishing of anchor as usual, nothing different, just lucky I guess. The same guy caught them all, claims he has no secret methods. I think he's holding out on me. 1big1

Posted by: edward john, Date: Monday May 20, Water Conditions: Flat Calm, Sunny, Location: Lake Erie

Report: Edward John was underway today with Capt Justin and 1st mate Justin and 9 anglers. After a very slow morning with many moves and a few drifts, they finally found the fish. At the end of the day approximately 175 yellow perch came over the rail. Seems like the spawn is over as most of the females are void of eggs. It was a great day to be out. Thanks to all who fish with us. We appreciate your friendship, new and old customers! Several drops and a few drifts off the Point produced only about 25 fish. At 11:45 went back to 45' off Sunoco, searched around and found a hungry school of jumbo's. Immediately rods doubled over with singles and doubles of jumbo's to 14 1/8". It was non stop till we pulled the hook at 2. Stayed out and extra hour because we found them late. By the end of the trip, several limits were landed and an average catch of 12-15 was common. Approximately 400+ fish were pulled over the rail. All in all a great day to be out.

Thanks to all who came aboard.

Capt John

Posted by: pope, Date: 5/18/13, Water Conditions: 2' +, Location: 48' off beach 9

Report: 3 of us anchored at 7:30, fished til 11:00, caught 80 perch,1 sheep, one white bass and 2 hog walleye. Walleye were 1@ 28" 7 lbs the other 31" 9 lbs. so much for my long held belief that May is too early to catch a lot of fish. perch were mixed sizes, no huge jumbos, but the walleye were a first for me at anchor, a nice unexpected "by-catch" 1big1

Posted by: edward john, Date: May 17, Water Conditions: Light winds, calm seas, Location: Lake Erie, 38'-43'

Report: After lousy weather kept us tied up at the dock for a few days , Capt Justin and 1st Mate Cuz headed out with the Edward John today with 15 angler on board.
